It
was a beautiful Easter Sunday in April of 1996 that friends
and family got together and decided to form a Southern
Gospel Ministry group. We had just come out of a wonderful
Easter service. The Lord had really moved, as He had been
doing in the hearts of these that wanted to spread His word
through testimony and song. Prior to this, we began as four,
Becky, Cathy, Richard and Jenny, going to local churches and
singing. We borrowed their piano and bass guitar, plugging
away and singing the best we knew how to. That was the
extent of our music. We truly enjoyed it though. That Easter
Sunday, following the service at our home church, we asked
Pat Drummond what his feelings were about helping us with
our ministry, as he had been there and had great experience
in that area. He agreed to make that step with us, along
with his wife and children. Some time later, Bryan and Trish
joined up with us adding a full time bass guitarist and
harmony vocalist. Over the years, members got married, had
babies, grandbabies, etc., and the group just got bigger and
bigger! Looking back on it now, we can see how incredibly
far God has brought us.
In December 1998, we
recorded our first album in a home studio. It was so
exciting to us, as well as nerve wracking. Pat was the only
one that knew anything about it. We finally finished the
project and continued to take the steps that God placed
before us. We have walked through many doors in our time.
Some unlike any place we had ever been, but we went there
open minded and sure enough, God’s power is the same no
matter the surroundings. Through the years, the musicians
have grown in their abilities to play, the vocalists have
learned more and more about arrangements and parts, and out
of nowhere, God was calling members to preach His gospel!
Now, not only are we booked for concerts, churches are
wanting Revival and the Word. So, we do sermons too, but
there’s no telling which one will wind up preaching! Right
now, Pat, Becky, Trish and Patrick are all preachers of the
Gospel. Many have been given beautiful gifts of the spirit,
as well as the gift of songwriting. A lot of our experiences
are reflected in the songs God has allowed us to write and
sing. We are so thankful that God has put His faith in us,
and given us the opportunities that He has and continues to.
We travel with a full
band. Sometimes it gets tough lugging all of that equipment
in and out, date after date, but we love the sound of a live
band and have never sang with anything else. Of course that
means we have live mistakes as well, but that just adds
character to the service right?? (The Individual Biographies
will tell you which instruments are played by which member.)
With all of the equipment, anywhere from 3-5 babies, and two
on the way this summer…..we pack a FULL bus!
We want to do whatever we
can to see someone blessed, or their life changed. When God
uses us to encourage someone, lift them up, or bring them to
Him, it makes it all worth the effort. We have seen souls
saved from small children all the way up to the elderly. It
is NEVER too late to give your life to God, or to come back
to Him if you have strayed. You are not alone. We have all
experienced things in our life that God has allowed us to
share with others to prove just that.
After ten years of
ministering, of course this bio will be long! We could go on
and on. But we’ll cut it off here. We would love to come
to your church service or special event and minister to you.
Our goal in this ministry is see that we do everything in
our power to see souls saved, and lives………………….
